Have Your Say - Members urged to respond to Victims Payment Consultation.

The Ely Centre are encouraging members to respond to the current Public Consultation document on the implementation of a Troubles Related Victims Payment Scheme.

HM Government has launched a public consultation on the Victims Payment Scheme which closes on the 26th November 2019. The consultation outlines proposals for the introduction of legislation for the provision of a scheme of payments to those living with physical/ psychological injuries sustained in Troubles Related Incidents.

As an organisation focusing upon the provision of mental health and welfare advice services for victims and survivors and veterans of HM Forces/ Security Forces we are keen to know your concerns, opinions/ recommendations on the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed payment scheme and parameters outlined within the consultation document and how this process could be improved.

Over the past month we have been engaging with victims and survivors to ascertain their opinions and we are scheduling a number of informal focus groups to be held in the Enniskillen and Armagh Centre before the close of the consultation period. As an organisation the opinions we receive from the membership will be integrated into our organisational response. However we are keen to learn what you are members think and assist you in responding to the consultation in a private capacity. If you wish to discuss this consultation document please contact us or just call into the office and meet with one of the team.
