Ely Centre delighted to appoint Mr Danny Kennedy to head up new partnership project

The Ely Centre announce the appointments of Mr Danny Kennedy and Mr David Taylor to deliver Partnership Welfare Advice Project in South Armagh and Monaghan

The Ely Centre are delighted to announce the appointments of Mr Danny Kennedy and Mr David Taylor to the role of Welfare Support Officers to develop and deliver an outreach welfare advice service throughout the South Armagh and Monaghan Areas.

This new outreach project funded by the Victims and Survivors Service will work in partnership and collaboratively with project partners within the victims support organisations in the South Armagh and Monaghan area to provide a complimentary and much needed service for victims and veterans of the security and armed forces residing within the area.

Mr Lee McDowell, Ely Centre, stated “The Ely Centre are delighted to have appointed such experienced and local individuals to lead the development of this new outreach project. Welfare and Benefits advice and support remain a fundamental need for many victims and veterans and To have such dedicated and proven persons leading the development of this project is an immensely positive step for the organisation and ultimately for those who will benefit from the support provided”

Danny Kennedy said “I’m delighted to be joining the team at the Ely Centre as we seek to develop and extend welfare and benefits services to victims and survivors from a security force and military personnel background, as well as the large number of civilians who continue to need support and help. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues as we work to address the needs of people in the South Armagh and County Monaghan area and I’m determined to make a positive contribution to this very important work.”

David Taylor said "I am very pleased to be assuming a Welfare Support Officer position within the Ely Centre. I am acutely aware of the vital support the Ely Centre provides to innocent victims and survivors and ex security force personnel and their families and I seek to further compliment this important work in the South Armagh/Monaghan area by ensuring their welfare needs and entitlements are addressed."

This new welfare service will work in tandem with the already operational health and Well Being Service currently be delivered within the area, providing complimentary support to existing Victims Charities operating within the Markethill area.
