Ely Centre awarded £20,000 to continue development of facilities at Brooke House

Brooke House as part of The Ely Centre Project are delighted to announce the Award of £20,000 Capital funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust.

This funding was applied to develop facilities in the walled garden in Colebrooke park.

The walled garden and the surrounding facilities make up a therapeutic setting which supports groups and individuals to improve their social, emotional and physical health through hands on gardening workshops, and nature walks.

The grant will develop the tranquil setting of the garden and the woodland by

Providing a covered area for workshops with BBQ facilities/Pizza oven where participants can harvest food and cook together and share a time of eating cooked produce from the garden.

Provide a fishing location in beautiful surroundings with wheel chair accessibility and a walk way around the lake with benches and a picnic area

Provide a mindfulness walkway through the woodland with signs along the way through trees and wild flowers with seating areas along the way and a campfire area by the river.
